The
Problem Facing Business
The term "think outside the box" and the realization of the need for
imagination and creativity in the workplace is not a new one. So why are so many
managers frustrated when repeated pleas for new ideas that will shift their
business paradigms fall on deaf ears? Why is such a universally recognized need
of business so difficult to fulfill?
Generally, the structured environment that
businesses provide in order to produce consistent and
reliable goods and services can eventually become an
obstacle to creativity and innovation. Until an
organization identifies and addresses the elements of their
corporate culture that are inhibiting the development of new
ideas and the cultivation of those with potential, the good
intentions of management will continue to be insufficient
drivers of change. |
